Southaven, Los Angeles Historic Cultural Monument #1037

Built: 1936  Declared: 06/26/2013

Built in 1936 and located in El Sereno, this is a rare example of a modest one-story home designed in the Streamline Moderne style. The home was designed by architect Arthur C. Munson, who specialized in creating various revival designs, about which he frequently wrote in the Los Angeles Times. Munson worked with the Barker Brothers and lectured in an interior design course that the store offered in the 1920s.
