This Art Deco style apartment building was constructed in 1929 by its first owner, Charles R. Miller from a design by the Arthur C. Wright Company. The structure is an excellent example of the Art Deco style that was built in Los Angeles from the early 1920s thru the beginning of World War II. The well maintained building retains a high degree of integrity both in its exterior and interior areas. Charles R. Miller appears to have been a local developer. The Arthur C. Wright Company was one of a number of design-build construction companies that appear in Southern California during the early 20th Century. Some of these companies, such as the Milwaukee Building Company, are considered as important to design history as some of the best of the period architects. Many of the larger companies had in-house architects that did their designs. Arthur C. Wright had his business in Los Angeles from 1922 until his death in 1977.
