Mills Cottage, Los Angeles Historic Cultural Monument #781
Built: 1936 Declared: 06/15/2004
Designed by LA architect Paul Hartman in 1936, the Mills Cottage is an intact example of the bungalow style transitioning into the ranch style popular after WWII. Hartman also designed Glendale’s Vogue Theatre. The cottage retains many of the original character details, including coved ceilings, arched doorways, hardwood floors, glass doorknobs, a built-in china cabinet, a built-in vanity, and decorative grates.
