Frederick M. Ashley, an architect, designed the Arroyo Seco Regional Branch Library, which was funded as a Carnegie Library. He designed and built this home for his own family. The house, which Ashley named IvyCrest after his wife, featured a spectacular drop-off, where he created lavish gardens for her enjoyment.
